    OUR STORY:

Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair has been family owned and operated since 1968 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair was originally founded by Terry (aka Stu) and Caroline Stewart. Stu with his experience from ARA Temperature Control parts in Miami, started Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair with Caroline in Pompano Beach. Operating for 27 years they have been successful in automotive repair, fleet repair, and diesel repair, the two decided to retire. Wanting to keep the automotive shop in the family, when nephew Richard Lieberman put in an offer they didn't hesitate. Richard (aka Rich) has been the proud owner of Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair of Pompano, FL. for over seven years.

Over the years Rich has made new improvements to the automotive shop that kept the original format his aunt and uncle had put in originally. Owning several different businesses himself, Rich has claimed Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair to be his favorite, greeting his automotive and truck customers with kindness and sincerity making sure that the quality of the workmanship is to their satisfaction. This is his #1 priority along with keeping the good reputation that Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel & Fleet Repair has accomplished throughout the years. He is known to personally pick up and drop off many of his customers and take them to their destination for their convenience while their automotive or truck repairs are being completed. He is staffed with only ASE certified mechanics that are highly qualified.

Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair services many Auto Dealers, Freight-liners and Fire Trucks as well as the drivers of Pompano Beach Florida residents and can work on any size vehicle providing services for anything from Power windows, Cruise control, Alarms, Radios and much more. Certified on installing The Air Bag Cut-off Safety Switch for those who have infants or shorter elderly people who need to drive to close to the steering wheel and want this option. No matter your needs, we hope you choose Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair for your automotive or truck repairs!

Testimonial: Mr. Stevens was amazed at the fact that Tom Fuller (mechanic) and Carey Showalter (manager) went to Mr. Steven's work Friday afternoon in the worst thunderstorm conditions this year. He states: “I couldn’t believe it when I stepped outside after work my car window motor was fixed and I didn’t get wet driving home.” Tom and Carey both were there on the job with a blue tarp to prevent the rain from seeping inside the car. Although Carey took it upon himself to make the decision of assisting Mr. Stevens on his unfortunate situation, it is not customary for Cruise N' Cool Automotive, Diesel, & Fleet Repair to go on-site to fix a vehicle and did it at no charge.

  • Are oil changes getting more expensive?

oil being put into the car

At Cruise N' Cool in Pompano Beach, FL, it’s important to us that you see the value in the work we do. What’s going on?

  • Bad engine mounts, why is it a problem for you?

working on a truck on a lift

Failed engine mounts are an irritating issue to live with causing your car or truck to vibrate and you don't know why. At Cruise N' Cool in Pompano Beach, FL, we can help, no matter what type of car, truck, or SUV you drive and it is an easy issue to detect on a test drive.

There are a few indicators your engine mounts need to be replaced. For one, you can do a visual inspection, if they’re accessible enough - if they looked cracked, smashed, or dry-rotted, it’s probably time for new ones.  If the engine visibly shakes while it’s running, engine mounts are also likely the culprit.  However, if you are like most drivers you simply get in and drive on down the road until something is different or a light comes on!   Then you call our shop for help!

  • Brake Fluid - It's a Problem! Why??

    vehicle brake repair

  • Brakes…One of the Most Important Parts of Your Vehicle

mechanic working on the brakes of a car

  • Have you checked your battery? If it looks like this - It's bad!

    corrosive battery in car image

When you are having trouble with your car or truck starting and you open the hood up to take a peek to see this....you'll see what an overly corroded battery looks like. This happens naturally over time on vehicle battery terminals.  If you are like 99% of normal Pompano Beach drivers, you don't check your oil or your battery so you don't keep an eye on the amount of corrosion that's building up on your car or truck battery.  Here at Cruise N' Cool, we do and there are solvents that we can use here in the shop during a battery maintenance service that will help slow the corrosion process but nothing that can prevent it 100%. Way before it gets to this point, we will be suggesting you consider replacing the battery.

  • How Do I Fix My Manual Transmission Problem?

    mechanic working on car

Manual transmissions are generally more reliable than automatic transmissions. They don’t have as many parts, aren’t as complex, and can take a lot more abuse. However, if an issue is allowed to persist, more and more damage to surrounding components on your manual transmission will occur. Cruise N' Cool in Pompano Beach, FL can help you take care of your car as soon as you notice a problem.

mechanic checking list with car hood up

What does “remanufactured” mean, and is it something you want? At Cruise N' Cool in Pompano Beach, FL, we strive for great service and a job well done. Part of that is equipping you with the knowledge you need to understand what’s going on when a repair is necessary on your car, truck or SUV. “Remanufactured” is a word that you’ll encounter in the automotive world. Many people perceive that to mean “used”, but that isn’t the case - here’s what you need to know.

  • Is it the Fuel Pump? Determining if Your Pump is Bad, and What to do About it

car at fuel pump While fuel pump issues are common, they often get misdiagnosed. What is your fuel pump, how do you know if yours is bad, and what should you do about it? • Keep Your Replacement Transmission Running Smoothly

    Transmission

Once your transmission has been replaced and you’re shifting smoothly once more, you’ll probably want to keep it running smoothly. Here are some tips from Cruise N' Cool in Pompano Beach, FL to help keep you reliably on the road.

  • Keeping your diesel fleet trucks on the road longer.

    diesel repair logo image

Keeping your fuel system maintained will prevent premature parts failure and poor running conditions. Here at Cruise N' Cool we have tips on the important aspects of diesel fuel system maintenance, to keep your diesel fleet trucks running smoothly - longer.

Air.Air in the system causes all kinds of issues, from hard starting, poor running conditions, or an engine that won’t run at all. If too much air gets in the system, the fuel pump won’t be able to deliver fuel, and the engine will stall, die, or fail to start.  Air enters the system via a leak or a bad seal - a deteriorated o-ring, worn component, faulty hose, or otherwise. Here we inspect your lines and connections to ensure they are in good shape and track down any leaks we notice air in the system.

  • Looks Like A Problem? YES!

Lady with car hood up - steam rising

Sometimes it is EASY to see if your car or truck needs to come into our shop for professional repairs!
    1.  You see steam rising from the engine!
    2.  The Check Engine Light is on!
    3.  The engine starts, but there is an odor that is not right.
    4.  You hear grinding or thumping noises.

  • Make that transmission last, it's simple!

Transmission Cut to show you the inside of it

Nothing works if your transmission doesn't work!  Simply put you are going nowhere without it and it is the one thing that both car and truck drivers alike never think twice about until it really acts up or they have no power or simply don't move forward.  Most of us have a newer car or truck with an automatic transmission in it vs. a standard transmission so do not notice that it is slipping gears until the problem is really serious so the question is how do you get the most out of your transmission?  The obvious answer is to take care of your transmission with scheduled service per your owner's manual recommendation but we have put together a simple checklist for our Pompano Beach drivers to help them become "transmission aware" as it were.
